Review: Y: The Last Man, Vol. 4: Safeword

Not bad. The writing is getting smoother and the story gets more and more believable. I only wish I already had the next volume ready at hand rather than waiting to be picked up at the library.

Review: Y: The Last Man, Vol. 3: One Small Step

This volume took an interesting new twist, especially at the end where we ventured away from the primary cast of characters. The story continues to be enjoyable and reliable in the quality of what is being presented. I am definitely going to continue reading this series to see where it goes from here.

Review: Y: The Last Man, Vol. 2: Cycles

Y: The Last Man, Vol. 2: Cycles
Y: The Last Man, Vol. 2: Cycles by Brian K. Vaughan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first volume sold me on trying the next volume. This second volume sold me on the series. If the writer can keep up with this level of plot development and character development then it will have been a very worthwhile read. This book really gave us a deeper look at the various driving characters of the series, and really did some fantastic character development work. The overall plot line continues to evolve and develop, giving us a look not just at the characters and how they deal with their environment, but a deeper look at the environment and world around them. Seeing how people adapt to a global catastrophe is a very interesting thought experiment, and the writer is handling it rather well. I am definitely looking forward to reading more in the series, and I can only hope that the writing stays at this level or improves.
