This was an odd volume that appears to follow Bruce Wayne as The Insider as he checks up on the various characters in his life after coming back from the dead. As such it is not a title in its own right, but instead a case of a common story arc crossing multiple comics that is collected into one volume. In doing so we find ourselves with a mish mash of storytelling abilities, with some being quite well written while others seem more like teenage fanfic. The overarching story isn’t a bad one, but feels more like an excuse to have Bruce wander through multiple books. The new character is interesting and I see some fun potential in it, but I want to see whether they do anything else with it or not. On the whole, it was a good read, if a bit contrived.

Now that the story is out from under the shadow of its predecessors the character is really starting to come together. There were two very cohesive story arcs in this volume, and both were enjoyable to read. The pacing was handled well, the action was appropriate, and the look into origins was much better handled than in the initial volume. All in all a very good read, and perhaps in some ways it should have been where the series started.
