I really loved how Geoff Johns played upon the running joke of Aquaman never getting any respect and being the joke member of the JLA. The writing was top notch, and the read was very enjoyable. I eagerly look forward to future installments.

I have to admit, when I first cracked this volume I just about put it down simply because of the change in artwork from the prior volume. I decided to give it a shot though, and the artwork grew on me, reminding me of Mike Grell’s work. The writing however was a different story, and it took me longer to grow to like it. Now, having finished the volume I find that I enjoyed the read, but I certainly wasn’t bowled over by brilliant writing, and the only real saving grace of the volume was the last third where it felt like the writer was finally finding a voice.
A fantastic read that had me turning the pages as fast as I could, and in the end it left me hanging, wanting more, and finding only an unresolved story that forces me to follow it to the next volume. Once more Geoff Johns delivers a truly fantastic reading experience!
A fitting finish to the trilogy, and a far more enjoyable read than the prior two books in the series. This one really showed character development, maturing the characters into what I grew to know and love in the Kris Longknife series.
I have really enjoyed the writing of this series, and while the artwork is not in my preferred style it really does a remarkable job of matching the atmosphere created by the writer. The scope on this volume was very interesting, and it was nice seeing the team-up with other notable street brawler type characters. In the end though it concludes in a way that leads me to believe that this is the end of the series, and perhaps the return of the Daredevil series is imminent. Definitely worth the read.
