Review: Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways

Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways
Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways by Zeb Wells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An interesting story, and I suspect the start of something far more interesting in the future. These two teams are a good mesh and the potential for trouble when the two of them get together is exponentially greater than when they are apart. This is exactly what you want with any cross-over book! I haven’t really checked the writing credits, but I can tell that the normal writer of Runaways was not an active writer for this volume. The book didn’t suffer for the lack of the regular writer, and if anything the writing style actually felt somewhat more mature for the change. I suspect that the lead writer was more familiar with working with the Young Avengers cast of characters, but they did a good job of blending the two differing styles together. I look forward to more such event books.
